Step-By-Step Directions
- Cook The Sausage
The first thing we need to do is cook the sausage. To do this, remove the sausage from its casings and preheat a large pot on medium heat.
Then, add the sausage to the pot. As the sausage cooks, crumble it so that it breaks apart. When the sausage is half-cooked, cover it partially with a lid and continue to cook it, stirring occasionally.
The sausage should be cooked through after 10 to 12 minutes. Once cooked, set the sausage aside and keep 1 tbsp of drippings. - Cook The Vegetables
Next, add the drippings to the pot with 2 tbsp of butter. You can then throw in the diced celery, carrots, and onions.Â
Cook the vegetables for 5 minutes before adding garlic and cooking for a further minute. - Make The Broth And Add Seasonings
Once the vegetables are cooked, we can start to make the broth. To do this, add flour to the pot with the vegetables and cook for 2 minutes.
